Important Recipe Notes

If you want to use your own homemade brownie recipe, you definitely can!

I made a homemade cream cheese frosting but you can use store bought if you’re short on time. A simple homemade buttercream frosting will also work. Just choose one that is white if you plan to add food coloring!

Any Halloween colored food coloring will work. Neon orange or neon green are great options. Be sure to use gel food coloring which is more concentrated so it will not ruin the texture or cause it to separate.

Any sprinkles mix will work. Choose Halloween colors that compliment the color of your frosting. If the sprinkles mix you get doesn’t have candy eyes (or bones!), you can always add them in separately.

Be sure you allow the brownies to cool before frosting them, that way they don’t melt.

Baking spray and cooking spray are different! Make sure to use baking spray (which contains flour) so that the brownies don’t stick to the edges. Use a knife to gently release them from the pan once cooled.

If you want, you can stick a pretzel stick into each cauldron after frosting and decorating with sprinkles.
